The Beachhouse Garden suite
Our vision for this beach house garden suite was to create a bright, clean, and casual space with modern detailing. To achieve this, we incorporated sleek hardware and jambless doors, allowing spaces to be closed off or opened up for flexible use. The design emphasizes natural materials and unique details, such as a "furniture style" island with a metal frame and textured wall paneling, clay tile, and warm wood tones.
One standout feature is the setback tile baseboards, which run seamlessly throughout the suite and along all doors, creating a continuous sightline. Lighting plays a crucial role in enhancing the bright and inviting atmosphere, with indirect LED strip lighting, mini pot lights, and low wall lights in the shower to eliminate glare and keep the space well-lit.
Every corner has been optimized for storage, maintaining an easy lived-in but simple aesthetic. The bathroom features a custom round medicine cabinet, while the bedroom walls are lined with tall storage that cleverly conceals electrical, ducting, and mechanical elements. The kitchen features hidden stacked laundry, a bench seat with storage and the island even houses a pull out eating bar In the laundry room, a hanging rod, extra deep counter with decorative ledge, pull-out drying racks, and a discreet hatch provide easy access to under-stair storage for seldom-used items, making the suite both functional and beautifully organized.
